Pop Culture Wednesday

In my quest to keep myself entertained through trying times, I have read and watched these things over the past week.

The Book of Awesome:

Surprisingly, much better than I thought it would be.  It's based on a blog of which I'm a very big fan.  I love taking note of the little things to be grateful about, and Neil Pasricha has come up with many that I never even thought about!  Definitely makes you remember that there are great things in life, and for those with chronic illness...maybe it will stand for a voice to tell everyone to press on.

Love and Other Drugs:

Again with chronic illness!  I LOVED this film.  Loved, loved, loved!  I plan on watching it all of the time.  It involves a young woman with a chronic illness, and a man who decides to love her without knowing exactly what challenges are ahead.  Reminds me a little of my own relationship.  A must-watch.

The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler:

Wow.  Irena Sendler is now my hero.  This may be a Hallmark movie, but it kept me captivated through every scene.  I was inspired, I was heartbroken, and my world changed a little bit.  I want to be the type of woman who would put it all on the line.  This film is incredible.

Grease:

One of everyone's favorite musicals!  I always forget how good this movie is until it pops up on my television. I have the DVD but never seem to watch it.  I should though, as it is great at picking my mood up.  The songs are just too good.  I sometimes wish my life was a musical.

What have you checked out recently??

xoxo,
Annie

I have been watching MI-5 (in the US, original British name: Spooks) online. Ooh, and I finally saw True Grit tonight, which was awesome!
