A Down Day...

It hasn't been a very good couple of days.

Yesterday, I was advised that tests were going to come to a close, as at this point they are now finding false positives.

It was implied that I simply wasn't trying hard enough, and that my attitude simply just didn't align with one who could cope with being constantly in pain.

He also said I needed to cut my medications, and yet couldn't come up with medications to cut.

I was not impressed.

I then got a flu shot, and saw my gastroenterologist who gave me more gastroparesis treatment (Motilium).

A few hours later, I got horribly dizzy and vomited.

I went to acupuncture this morning and 21 needles were inserted.  I left in more pain than I had when I went in...not quite sure that's how this process is meant to go.  I now have the worst muscle aches in potentially ever (the nurse called to check on me and the doctor then said that this is a side effect that I simply wasn't warned about...).

I've spent a lot of time in bed.  I wanted to review a great book: Reviving the Broken Marionette: Treatments for CFS/ME and Fibromyalgia by Maija Haavisto, but I just haven't had the strength.  It's coming soon!

Hope everyone is well!

xoxo,
Annie

Sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time. The doc's attitude needs adjusting not yours!

I've done acupuncture for the last six months. What I've found generally (doesn't happen everytime) is that it will make me worse for 24 hours and then it makes me a tad better for a couple of days. However, everyone reacts to it differently and my experience will probably be different than yours. You're reaction to it will also depend upon the type of acupuncture being performed. There are different schools and philosophies. I've seen two different practitioners and they were very different in their approach. Best thing you can do is track how you feel after each treatment and see if you trend better or worse with the treatments. Also let your acupuncturist know your meds since they can often treat the side effects.

I hope you feel better soon.

Annie, It's awful that you feel like crap. Acupuncture makes me fall asleep and I wake up with drool on my chin! I go to a Chinese trained Acupuncture Guy and there are differnces like Baffled said. I just someone could help you.

shucks Annie. rough. sorry to hear about your struggles. u put such an honest face on things, making it easy for those of us looking on to pick what we want. some of us see your hilarious side, some your lathered lips lipsticks, some your stories of pain and sadness. but u give us the option to see it all and that is pretty cool. what u r doing is unique and a great story to tell and read. keep on.

Just catching up after vacation. So sorry to hear you had a rough time. Your severe aches might have been from the flu shot. I had a 3-week long bad crash with severe aches after mine - never again!

Hope you're doing better by now.
