I am going to continue going to my regularly scheduled appointments in the hopes of something changing my mind. I think I'll have to having gaping stab wounds before I ever end up in the ER around here again though.
OH no, Annie, what did those idjits say to you this time?? >:-\ I really wish I could do something to help (and am currently whirring my brain wheels in the hopes of formulating a plan). It's just really ridiculous how hard it is to find good medical care. And it should be illegal to make someone feel small when they came to you with legitimate problems. I decided to leave my general care doctor when my mom suggested I go see an allergist... my doc said, "Oh no, that's only for when the symptoms are interfering in her life." Umm... I dropped out of college? Twice? I sleep 14 hours a day? I'm sick all the time? Define "interfere," because I don't think we're seeing eye to eye...
:( What happened? I do think we're pretty lucky in Canada even though any health care system can be incredibly annoying. I got to see a neurosurgeon recently, spoke to him for 20 minutes, and he recommended a surgery, which if I take it, has a waiting list of two months. All paid for by the health system. I know it can be frustrating at times, but I have to admit that experience renewed my faith in our Canadian health care system. Anyway, I hope you're doing okay 'hon!
Robyn I echo your comment entirely. What counts as interference? Not being able to hold down a job? Apparently not around here.
Vladimir, I do think in a lot of ways we are lucky in Canada. But even though I should be seeing a neurologist, my doctors look for ways to avoid having to make any referrals to anyone. It's like banging your head against a brick wall. Thanks for the support though!

I know what you mean by feeling just plain done with the health care system. It can wear out a healthy person.
Do you have the option to try another doctor? (You can see that although I've been "done" many times, I still go back to it.)
