Annie, my age will show with this comment, but I saw Janis Joplin play live several times in San Francisco, at the Monterey Jazz Festival, and also at University of California, Davis (I still live in Davis).
When she came to Davis, between sets when they played recorded music, she came down off the stage and danced with the rest of us.
Annie, your posts just always get me right here (points to center of chest indicating her heart, not her boobs, because that would be weird). Seriously though, wonderful quote-- Ms. Joplin couldn't have said it any better!
Yes, Annie, she did. She always gave 100% of herself. She was tough as nails but you could also see that she was vulnerable at the same time. I cried so hard when she died.
She was something else all right. Imagine what she would be singing now if she lived. No, I don't think we could imagine it...she was an unpredictable soul. xoxomo

It's so great to see this picture of her.

I love that! I have a one pretty similar on my blog. "Be yourself. Everybody else is already taken." Oscar Wilde.
Have a great day.
Toni! I'm so jealous! That must have been absolutely incredible. She just had such an incredibly vivid spirit :)

I teared up just reading your message Toni. Such an experience.
